OF NORWAY is the joint forces of Vegard “ Lil’ “ Wolf Dyvik & Chris Lynch.

”The bass is vibrating as I am typing, to the sound of the new OF NORWAY track, running on repeat on my iTunes. You know, the kind of hang up that can almost be described as autistic.” Writes Nils Noa in his heading of the November 2009 issue of Natt & Dag (Norway’s leading culture zine.)

Kiss.FM (UK) has also been supporting the lads for three months straight via their Buzzin’ Fly (Ben Watt) show and the not insignificant X.Press 2 show.

At home OF NORWAY has been regulars on air waves from the only nationwide coverage radio station NRK P3 (DJ. Friendly) on an almost weekly basis, and supported by the underground local stations and online radios as well. In 2009 they have found support and respect from DJs as various as Laurent Garnier, Diskjokke, Stacey Pullen, Rune Lindbæk, Ajello, Ben Mono, Ben Watt, Llorca, Vinny Villbass, G-Ha & Olanskii, Ripperton, Mental Overdrive, Brodinski, Frankie Bones, Laidback Luke, Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Gel Abril, Phonogenic, John Digweed, Martijn Ten Velden, Kiki, Fabrice Lig and the list goes on.

2009 saw the boys developing their live set, playing the major domestic festivals and events such as Øya, Sunkissed, Pstereo, Ploink, Ekko and various club gigs. As well as holding down a bi-monthly show on SAMURAI.FM, where they DJ and play live gigs. Lil’Wolf is one of the few selected Norwegians to have been invited to record a BBC session for Annie Nightingale.

Between them they have releases and remixes on labels such as Afro Art (UK), Rong Music (US), Dialect (FR), Rebirth (IT), Troll Rec (NOR) Brique Rouge (FR), Mantra Vibes (IT), Audiobahn (S), Deeplay Soultech (S),Love O.D (NOR), C+C/Frode Records (N), Tommy Boy/Silver Label (US) etc. And they start of 2010 with releases on Bete Noir/Afro Art (UK), Tu-Rong/Rong Music (US), Troll Records (NOR) and Luna Flicks (NOR).

this project from lil wolf is great with a great remix from danny j lewis. the original is a slow moving and hypnotic downtempo track in a 3/4 rhythm. its quite hynotic. when i first heard it i had my player on repeat and i didnt realise for ages. Danny j lewis provide a killer remix and dj tool for the housier afro vibes.

Oh, right, you have been too busy downloading... The good news, anyway, is the arrival of an excellent contagious party peak 12": "Governor's daughter", the new track by the Norwegian duo Of Norway (made of Lil Wolf and Chris Lynn). They are another example of the Scandinavian scene of cosmic disco, abstract house and postminimal techno. In other words: they are fresh and exciting new blood for the trend eaters! But, they are beyond just that. And that's probably why good old Paul (Murphy) pick them for the necessary return of Afro Art with a killer track. And he got it right in all respects, but specially with the irresistible side-b remix signed by Danny J Lewis (the name behind Spiritual South, and another Afro Art's top seller "Green Gold").
